The publishing package I purchased included professional editing but the editor they assigned clearly did not specialize in children's content. Several of her suggestions would have made the story inappropriate for the age group I was targeting. When I raised concerns, they were dismissive. Not worth the premium price they charge.

The children's book selection online is nice but the website is really slow and clunky. Checkout kept timing out and I had to re-enter my payment info three times before the order went through. Also the search filters don't work well — I searched for books for ages 2 to 4 and kept getting results for middle grade readers.
Ordered a custom baby memory book as a gift and the customization was completely wrong. The baby's name, gender, and birthdate were all incorrect despite me filling out the form carefully. I have the confirmation email proving what I submitted. Customer support asked me to re-submit the form and wait another two to three weeks for a corrected version. Completely unacceptable for a gift item.
I reached out to inquire about their self-publishing services and was promised a follow-up call within 24 hours. No one called. I emailed twice and got one vague response. I ended up going with a competitor who actually wanted my business. My Story Tale seems overwhelmed and disorganized. I wouldn't trust them with an important creative project.
The books I ordered arrived eventually but the packaging was terrible — just tossed in a plain box with no padding. One of the corners of a hardcover was crushed in. The books are nice quality otherwise, but for the shipping cost they charged me I expected them to actually protect the items in transit.
