Our catering business switched to Whidbey Island Seafood about six months ago and it's been a great decision. The product consistency is what we needed most and they deliver on that every single time. Salmon, halibut, oysters all arrive in excellent condition. Our clients frequently compliment the seafood at events. The supplier relationship has been smooth and their team is easy to work with.

Really disappointed with my recent order. I ordered two pounds of wild salmon and when it arrived the fish had an off smell that wasn't right. I contacted customer service and waited three days for a response. When they finally replied they offered me a partial store credit which doesn't really help when I already had to throw out the product. For the price they charge I expected much better quality control.
Ordered a seafood box for a dinner party and it arrived a full two days late. By then the dry ice had completely evaporated and the seafood was sitting in warm water. The oysters were completely unusable and the shrimp smelled terrible. I had to scramble to find last minute food for my guests. Called customer service and was put on hold for 45 minutes and then disconnected. Absolutely will not order from them again.
The website makes everything look premium but my experience didn't match the marketing. I ordered the premium halibut fillet and it arrived with some freezer burn on the edges. The texture was mushy in spots which tells me it had been thawed and refrozen at some point. Customer service was polite but took forever to respond and only offered a small discount on my next order rather than a refund.
Mixed experience overall. The smoked salmon was genuinely good but the live oysters I ordered were a letdown. Several were already open when I got them which means they were dead. About a third of the dozen were unusable. I understand seafood is perishable but for this price point I expect better quality control. Customer service did respond and gave me credit but the inconvenience wasn't worth it.
My order arrived with the wrong items entirely. I ordered wild king salmon and dungeness crab and received sockeye salmon and some random shrimp. When I reached out to the company it took over a week to get any kind of response. They eventually said they would send a replacement but it never arrived. I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card company. Very unprofessional operation.
We tried using Whidbey Island as a supplier for our seafood restaurant and it did not work out. The first two orders were fine but the third came with product that was clearly past its prime. The halibut had a slimy texture and strong ammonia smell. We had to reject the entire shipment. When we contacted them about the issue we got a runaround for almost two weeks before they agreed to a partial refund. Had to find a different supplier.
Ordered twice from Whidbey Island. The first order was great and I was excited to become a regular customer. The second order was a disappointment. The packaging was damaged on arrival and one of the salmon fillets looked like it had been partially thawed and refrozen. The flavor was noticeably off. Wish the quality was more consistent because when it's good it's really good.
